Our sympathies go to our neighbors in Paynes Creek who suffered from waves of fire resulting in structures and homes burning. Many trees survived, but many appear to be burned along Highway 36 and beyond.

July 27, 2024 Early Morning - Mineral is under mandatory fire evacuation, but essential personnel have stayed to defend and support those defending Mineral. This morning, the sky was white. Wade is showing the giant ash falling, next to his hand for size comparison. Ranch was bulldozing fire lines last night while Mineral Lodge had some visitors. These are our community's heroes.

Thank you to all of the volunteers throughout the years, as we celebrate the 75th year of the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department! Not only do volunteers respond to local fire incidents, they also support residents and visitors with many types of emergencies. We enjoyed celebrating with you at this year’s pancake breakfast on July 7, 2024.

Historically there were tennis courts on this property, but now it sits in disrepair. As this property is along one of the most commonly walked roads in and out of Cool Air, take note. Beware of broken fencing and watch to make sure dogs or kids don't end up wandering over while walking by and getting cut.

There's a new water tank in town and the previous one is being refurbished during June. Looking beautiful on the hill, as always!

Walking to the Lodge on May 5th for the weekly breakfast club was a bit easier with snow shoes and poles, after nearly 17" of snow during the past day and night. What a difference a few weeks makes!

Mineral's flowers seem more abundant than ever this year, perhaps due to the recent snows and rain. The colors seem especially vibrant this year! Walk around and see what you think... aren't there more flowers than usual?!
